Who we are and whom we represent

The company, in its present form, is the continuation of George Leotsakos' personal company, which was established in Athens, in 1970. The main activity of the company was the import and trade of Animal Products, Veterinary Medicines and Hygienic Products of productive farms covering a wide range of activities in the area of animal production.

In 1971, George Leotsakos became the exclusive representative for the Greek market of Denkavit company of Netherlands, whilst the exclusive representation of the German Schaumann group of companies followed in 1974. Both these companies are considered to be leaders in their field throughout Europe and their names are synonymous of the quality and the scientific animal nutrition.

Since 1971, the development of our company has been characterized by multiple and dynamically increasing activity and from top quality products always having in mind the Greek livestock-breeder and his needs. That is why after 38 years of continuous presence in the Greek market, on the side of veterinarians, agriculturalists, the veterinary and agricultural institutes and the producers as well, the Schaumann and Denkavit products and programs of animal feeding are considered to be the most reliable and guaranteed solutions for the right scientific animals' nutrition.

Moreover, an important fact, which illustrates the philosophy and the consistency of our company is the long-term cooperations with the foreign firms which our company represents for more than three (3) decades as well as the associations with Greek companies through local representatives and partners. Most of these cooperations last for over than 30 years and our experience which lasts 38 years and the reliability of a family business are our main features..

"Leotsakos and CO. O.E." has today a complete sales network, which consists of our local representatives, most of whom are agriculturalists, veterinarians and technical agriculturalists, as well as the support which is provided with frequent visits of our scientists-sales managers which have all a scientific background. Our staff's aim is to achieve the best possible technical and economic results for the livestock breeder always in cooperation with him, as well as with constant communication and collaboration with the corresponding departments of Schaumann and Denkavit.

Having as aim the complete cover of the contemporary needs of a stock-breeding unit and in order to be always able to offer the best solutions for the stock breeder, we commenced the collaboration with Hampel-Calf Tel company (No 1 in the world for Igloo sales for calves) which is exclusively represented in Greece and Cyprus by our company, since 2006.

Furthermore, during the last years the company has expanded its activities in the dynamically developing sector of Petfood. In 2005, it presented the Leodog - Leocat Premium line of petfood for cats and dogs, which combines both quality and economy in feeding. In October 2006 the company exclusively represents in the Greek market, the Swiss firm BiOMill, with high quality nutritional food products for dogs and cats, whereas from January 2008 the company is becoming the sole representative for Greece and Cyprus of the Sanimed dietetic dry foods for dogs and cats, products that are prescribed and provided only by veterinarians. This collaboration reinforces substantially the market position of "Leotsakos and CO. O.E." in the section of Petfood. The future objectives of our company are the creation of a separate department with nutritional products for pets, the integral service provision all over Greece through Agriculturists -scientific partners and of course to maintain the current family form of business.

In 2007, through the establishment of "Leotsakos Nord Griechenland GmbH" in Salonica, we materialized our aim for an even better level of service to our clients and partners in Northern Greece, improvement of offered services, as well as an integral cover and monitoring of the regions of Macedonia and Thrace from our locally assigned agriculturalists.

Both our company, as well as the firms that we represent, have a strong sense of commitment and responsibility towards all those who value us with their trust for almost four decades. This sense of responsibility is our tradition.
